Celebrating World Blood Donor Day 14 June 2023, Kawan Lama Group in cooperation with Indonesian Red Cross Society undertakes National Blood Donation in 30 cities in 20 provinces.
The events take places at ACE and INFORMA stores in Sumatera (Aceh, Jambi, Lampung, Medan, Palembang, Pekanbaru), Java (Bandung, Bekasi, Bogor, Cirebon, Gresik, Jakarta, Kediri, Malang, Purwokerto, Semarang, Solo, Surabaya, Tangerang, Tasikmalaya, Yogyakarta), Kalimantan (Balikpapan, Banjarbaru, Banjarmasin, Pontianak), Sulawesi (Kendari, Makassar, Manado), Nusa Tenggara Timur (Kupang), and Nusa Tenggara Barat (Mataram).
Ema Novianti, A.Md. Ak., Head of Blood Service, Blood Transfusion Unit, Red Cross Society Tasikmalaya, stated, “We truly appreciate Kawan Lama Group’s support in this blood donation. Hopefully, besides fulfilling blood transfusion needs, the event can inspire new donors, and attract old donors to actively come back. Because, during the previous pandemic, the number of regular donors was lessened, and did not entirely come back until the moment.”
Melinda Pudjo, Vice President of Corporate Affairs, Communications, and Sustainability of Kawan Lama Group, said, “This national blood donation event has been undertaken since 2015, and to date, Kawan Lama Group has collected over 21,000 blood bags. In this event, we target up to 2,000 blood bags addition collected from 30 cities in 20 provinces in Indonesia. Hopefully for every drop of blood collected can give hope and better life for the transfusion receivers.”
